‘n Fees van waatlemoene
BRITS POS – BRITS – Koersvas Voortrekkerkommando het Woensdag, 19 Januarie 2022, die jaar se aktiwiteite met die kommando se immergewilde Waatlemoenfees afgeskop. Met honderde waatlemoene, om te eet en mekaar mee te smeer, was dit vet pret én ‘n groot sukses aangesien ‘n hele klomp nuwe leerders saam kom speel en hulself geniet het.
Female peacekeepers awarded for their service
BRITS POS – POTCHEFSTROOM - In celebration of the Golden Jubilee, the 50th Anniversary of the first enlistment of female officers in a previously male dominated field took place in Potchefstroom on Friday, 21 January 2022 with theme ‘Celebrating the role of women in policing’.
An all-female Provincial medal parade was held to award 30 years loyal service medals that are an honourable tribute in recognition of exceptional devotion to duty to 16 female officers and members.
Severe water shortages experienced in greater Brits area
BRITS POS – BRITS – A major water crisis is affecting Brits, Oukasie, Elandsrand, Sonop, Damonsville, Mothotlung, Mmakau, Letlhabile and Oskraal and the reason is that only seven of 14 sand filters are working at the Brits Water Treatment Works which has led to residents still being without running water for days on end.
