Upingtons Russel Nugent came in second at the annual KAEM this past week with an impressive time of 27:25:08 . The Kalahari Augrabies Extreme Marathon (KAEM), known as the “Big Daddy” of ultra-trail marathons hosted 52 runners from 11 countries for the celebrations of their 20th event. The race started on 12 October at 8:00 at the picnic area of SANPARKS Augrabies Falls National Park. and finished on 18 October at the starting venue.This 7-day multi-stage and self-sufficient race that covered 250 kms, traverses trail routes across SANPARKS Augrabies Falls National Park, alongside the Orange River vineyards, through the Quiver Tree Forest as well as private farmlands.
