Bryan Habana - once feared winger and leading try scorer of the Springboks during earlier glory days. Following South Africa’s disastrous defeat at the hands of the Japanese Blossoms in the Boks’ very first match of the 2015 Rugby World Cup tournament - the question is - will Habana make the team for Saturday’s clash against heavyweights Samoa - and if so - will he be able to save the Springboks from a honourless exit in this year’s World Cup tournament?

Louis Meintjes in top ten at Vuelta a Espana

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - It’s old that South Africa is currently experiencing perhaps one of its most exciting times in history.  The IAAF World Youth Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia and the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China, are but two examples of excellence in South African sport in recent times. But South African athletics are not the only sporting code that has shifted into overdrive.

‘Barbarians’ beat ‘Springboks’

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - On Sunday 16 August, RPM Golf Club held the annual ‘Ryder Cup’ Greensomes Matchplay competition.  Greensomes is played with partners, with both teeing off. The best ball is selected, and then each player takes alternate strokes until the ball is holed out. This is a game for good friends since a good shot can be followed by the partner’s dreadful one.
