RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - In the world of international cycling, the name MTN Qhubeka will be remembered for a very, very long time. Not only was the MTN Qhubeka team the first African team in history to contest the gruelling Tour de France, but a born and bred Rustenburg cyclist - Louis Meintjes was a prominent member of the nine member team which had a dream debut in the Tour de France. In addition to finishing in fifth place overall, MTN Qhubeka’s Steve Cummings managed a brilliant stage win while Daniel Teklehaimanot wore the similarly coveted polkadot jersey (King of the Mountains) for four days...
