Petrol price set to increase

BONUS – RUSTENBURG – The price of petrol is set to increase in April despite economic factors being slightly in South Africa’s favour.

The coming increase in April will be above the 52 cent increase brought about by the increase in the fuel levy and Road Accident Fund as announced by the Finance Minister in February.

The Central Energy Fund Group (CEF Group) has predicted that, given the current state of the international oil price and the movement of the Rand against the US Dollar, the average unit under recovery for fuel will be between 7.395 and 4.973 cents.

These figures were predicted on Friday, 23 March, and can still change if the underlying factors change before 31 March.
