BONUS - RUSTENBURG- One man was killed and seven others injured on Monday morning (11 February) following a taxi accident on the R30, 11 kilometres from Rustenburg towards Derby.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, paramedics, along with other services, received the call at 04:35 and immediately responded. On arrival, paramedics found a taxi lying on its roof some distance off the road. Several people were found scattered on the scene.
Paramedics quickly assessed the patients and found that the male taxi driver had sustained numerous injuries and showed no sign of life. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead. Three other patients were found to be trapped inside the taxi. The patients, a man and a woman, were found to be in critical condition.
Rescue Services had to use specialised equipment to free the three trapped patients.
