BONUS - RUSTENBURG - On 25 November this year's 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign will kick off.

In Rustenburg the annual campaign will get underway with a Fun Walk on 26 November. The event will be held at Bergsig Academy and entries will be accepted from 16:30; the start will be at 17:30. The distances available are 2 km or 4 km. The first 80 participants taking part in the 2 km event will receive medals, while medals will go to the first 120 participants completing the 4 km walk. To take part in the Fun Walk, participants must bring a new toy or school stationary for children aged between one-year-old and 16-years-old. Participants are also requested to dress up 'funny'. Businesses can challenge one another to see who's team is the most original. Except for getting a bit of exercise, participants stand a chance to win one of the lucky draw prizes. Teams with the best 'gees' will also be rewarded. If you are not able to take part, you can still donate either money, toys or stationery. On 28 November the Rustenburg Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit will host 'Christmas in November'.
The event will be at the premises of the Unit and will cater for approximately 110 children, as well as adults who have been victims of domestic or sexual violence.
Your contribution towards this function will be very welcome. For more information, contact Warrant Officer Elmarie van der Merwe on 060 967 3959 / 071 647 1791.
