Photo Competition: October entries
Schalk Pretorius: Winning photo: The composition makes for a colourful and peaceful rural scene. The veiwers eye is immidiately drawn to the focus point of the bird and the water discharge point. The cloudy sky has impact. The only critisism would be the colour of the sky and the blue hue in the clouds.
Schalk Pretorius: Mooi gebruik van kontrasterende kleure, Interresante lug en teksture in voorgrond, goeie gebruik van lyne om die oog na fokuspunt te lei.
Angelina Pezzoli: Photo would have had more impact if the spider was closer without cropping. Photo seems abit grainy and too cropped, therefore has lost some of the quality. Spider isn't really in focus and there seems to be spots on the leaf that are quite distracting. Good effort though.
Angelina Pezzoli: Nice artistic colourful composition with the natural bee comlementing the man made background. The bee and backrpund is in sharp focus. The viewers eye tends to be drawn to the lighter part of the image which is the bright areas to the left and right. A tighter crop on both left and right would improve the impact of the image and have the viewer focus more on the subject.
Nomvula Sekgetho: Not sure where the focus point of the photo is. The power lines, although I see the vision of the author it can be seen as a distraction rather than adding the photo, try a different angle next time. The bush on the bottom of the image is also not adding to the photos composition.
Mariette Jacobs: Model se rok laat haar mooi uitstaan van die agtergrond, die takke links in die foto trek onnodig aandag en kan uitgecrop word, foto kon verbeter deurdat beide model en perd hul koppe bietjie kon lig.
Mariette Jacobs: I like the composition of the photo, very fairytale like. The colour of the photo seems abit dull, I don’t know if that is a editing and setting mistake. The dress pops quite nicely against the dull background, but overall quality of the photo can be improved.
Nelia Jansen: Nice photo with the backlighting reflectign through the leaves. The focus on the centre is good. The bright backlight dominates the photo and draws the viewers eye away from the focus point of the wasp. The tip of the leaf on the left is just cropped off which can detract from the photo as it appears accidental. That said, I would consider a tighter crop on the whole image, which would reduce the background glare and make the wasp the focal point.
Nelia Jansen: Mooi kleure en teksture, foto is so bietjie besig, gelukkig help die beperkte velddiepte om die oog te fokus op die middel van die foto.
