Klerksdorp parkrun is moving

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - After 5 years of parkrunning at Makadu Restaurant and Golf World in La Hoff the latest parkrun news is that the Klerksdorp parkrun is moving to a new venue. From 5 October, Klerksdorp parkrun will be held at their new venue at Hoërskool Schoonspruit.

On the podium

The 1660 Thunder Challenge at Klerksdorp Raceway was won by Shane Bromilow from Vereeniging. Prize money of R10 000 was up for grabs in this challenge. Richard Scholtz from Klerksdorp Raceway took the second podium spot and Johan Coetzer from Bloemfontein, third.

Martial arts students excell

Members of the Klerksdorp Korean Martial Arts Club, Tang Soo Do, competed at the 2019 South African Korean Martial Art Championship, held on 3 and 4 August at the Potchefstroom Madiba Banquet Hall. Danica Swanepoel brought home 2 gold and 2 silver medals and Nathan Malatji 2 bronze medals. Lesedi Nkotsi, absent, won a silver medal. Master Louise Viviers, Chief Instructor Traditional Tang Soo Do South Africa and Klerksdorp, is with them.

Klerksdorpian conquers English Channel

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Kiki Marx is as tough as nails. When she sets her mind to a challenge, she will try her utmost to reach it. She attempted to swim the English Channel previously, but had to give up with the French coast in sight. On Sunday 25 August, a day after her 50th birthday, she fulfilled a life-long dream of swimming the English Channel.

Ladies compete in IBFF

Ida Janse van Rensburg will participate in the IBFF World Cup in Kempton Park on 7 September. She won the Fitness Model category for 35 years and older at the IBFF Fire and Ice competition that was held this past weekend. She received second place in the Fitness Model Tall division.
