Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Spring is in the air and Wolf Records and Holly Land Entertainment are doing it again and this time is bigger and better.

Every year Matlosana and surrounding areas’ youth look forward to welcoming spring as the season that brings a lot of activities to the city, and this year is no different. On Saturday 31 August it is the Klerksdorp Spring Festival at Schoonspruit Park.

“The people of Matlosana love the festival, as it brings their favorite artists into their backyard and we love bringing these artists for our people,’’ says the founder of Wolf Records, Keletso Joseph Maketela. The festival was launched in 2016 and 2019 would be the 3rd installment of the event. “We are very excited about this year as we are going all the way to make the event last longer in the people minds, as this is the beginning of history,” says the long time events promoter.

The event brings a number of A-List national artists, and this year’s lineup of entertainment promises to tear off the roof in heat; the event has confirmed the performance of Prince Kaybee, Donald, Sjava, Mlindo The Vocalist, Kwesta, Dj Sumbody and many others on their official Facebook page. “We have a great relationship with many artists in the country and this is because of years of experience in organising such events,” says the events marketing manager, Thapelo Ditshego.

The event also presents a platform for local artists to connect with national artists, and perform to a larger crowd. “The event is a marketing tool for local artists, business and government and we invite everyone to be involved so we can put our city on the map,” says Ditshego. “We want everyone to come to the city of Matlosana, to make this the official biggest festival in the province, our promotion strategy is aimed at stretching across three provinces, namely Free State, Gauteng and of course here in the North West,” says Ditshego.

Tickets went on sale at the beginning of June and can be purchased at Computicket or Shoprite for only R120 and at the gate as well. VIP Tickets are limited to R450 per person. “We encourage people to hurry and buy their tickets because they are selling like hot cakes,” says Ditshego.
