NW teacher represents country at UNESCO Awards.

MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG: The 2016 National Teachers Awards winner in the Lifetime Achievement category,  Lesiba Pila who is a principal of Rutanang Primary school in Rustenburg was nominated by the South African limb of United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to represent the 435 000 teachers across the country, at the UNESCO Awards held in Paris, France on  October 5.

NW Swim gala and prize-giving celebration

On September 22 and 23 NW Swim had their short course gala at Lebone College, Phokeng in Rustenburg. The gala was followed by NW Swim’s annual prize-giving where two swimmers from International School Swim Club (ISSC), Li MC Quire and Casey Joubert were awarded their NW Junior colours. Li Mc Quire also walked away with the best in the age group of 12-year-olds and later won a silver medal for the 50m Butterfly.

Makgetla Pimary QLTC launch

Makgetla Primary school, previously known as Makgetla Middle school, situated in Magogoe village of Mahikeng held its Quality Learning and Teaching Campaign (QLTC) structure launch last Thursday.
The aim was to mobilize the entire community to support quality education. The structure committed to the campaign by pledging publicly to upload and abide by their relevant pledges.
The SGB, staff and learners would like to thank all who made the day a success.
The power to improve education lies with all of us”, the school management said in a statement after the highly successful event attended by among others, provincial Independent Electoral Commission ( IEC) head, Dr Tumelontle Thiba who addressed the guests, educators , learners and members of the SGB on issues of discipline and security at schools and other institutions of learning.

Provincial Setswana competition winner

Bonolo Kgaje aged 13,  a learner of Mosenogi Primary School in Lotlhakane village obtained position one in a Grade 7 Provincial Setswana competition held last week Wednesday on September 12 at Sol Plaatjie Primary School. 

Build It Under 13 soccer and netball tournament

Build It Mafikeng sponsored a U/13 schools tournament for soccer and netball which took place recently at the Montshioa Stadium. The tournament hosted 14 soccer teams and four netball teams whose players  participated in the thrilling tournament. B.M. Mokitime Primary School won both the soccer and netball tournament  finals where they received trophies, bag packs, soccer kits. “We would like to thank all Schools, SAFA and Department of Education for their participation in the tournament,” said Management of Build It Mafikeng.
