Maftownians “Run Their Dream”

The GoAllOut organisation (NPO-PBO Sec 18A) which consists of over 150 volunteers from the North West University, Mahikeng Secondary and Sol Plaatje Secondary Schools held its 3rd annual Run Ur Dream fundraising event last Saturday at Mahikeng Mall from where the race started and ended. The 5km colour run saw over 1000 runners take part in the event. Participants comprised of children, youth and adults who came out “to run and play”. Mahikeng has over 20 open spaces which can be turned into playgrounds for youth and can accommodate well over 26, 000 children and youth.  The organisation aims to upgrade and renovate these playgrounds over the next five years to make them attractive and safe for children and teenagers. Other activities which can accommodate a skate park for young skateboarders can also be featured in these playgrounds to be used by youngsters who usually run the risk of injury by skating on public roads. Youth Celebration games

MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: The North West Provincial Sports Confederation hosted Youth celebration games in Mahikeng last weekend and with four Districts that were equally represented on Basketball, Football, Netball and Volleyball respectively.

MTN8 2019/20 puts fans in control with “OWN YOUR GAME”

MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: MTN, in conjunction with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) last week launched the 2019/20 MTN8 Wafa Wafa. Several innovations mean this year’s tournament will be unlike any other. Football lovers will now be able to control the game through the “OWN THE GAME” fan campaign.
