NW chess improve on last year’s National Championship winnings

It was a fun filled week for the NW Chess players that participated at the National Chess Championships held in Cape Town last week.National Cape Town Championships last week returned home on Sunday and Monday morning. The team had a major improvement from one medal in the under 20 category in their last year’s winnings when the tournament was held in Bloemfontein. This year they took the under 19 gold in the schools category when Neo Letiko beat all other provincial contenders to claim poll spot. Masego Lesejane came in third in the same category to claim bronze; a win that the association said was against all odds.

Varsity Cup kicks off this Monday

Mahikeng Mail - Mahikeng: The third edition of Varsity Cup Football kicks off on Monday July 20 at the Wits Stadium in Johannesburg. Mahikeng will be starved of the high tempo games that used to receive a full bench at the North West University Mahikeng Campus on Mondays. The province will be represented by North West University- Pukke (Potchefstroom) for the first time and matches will be held at the campus.

Lack of vision for development cost North West victory

Mahikeng Mail -Mahikeng: Former Premier Soccer League player and coach of the North West Province SAB Under 21 team, Gideon  Noge  has pinpointed lack of sound development policies and structures as the only roadblock to success for provincial teams.
