Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Daphne Lee Centre for Adults with Disabilities took hands with Anais from the Be Your Dream Project in Johannesburg when Round Table 53 (Stilfontein) hosted a gala event at Lost Treasure recently.
Anais is the National Ambassador for Life Line. Prior to the gala event, she visited local high schools to create awareness of Life Line as a resource for high school students and to promote the gala event on 2 August.
A matriculant at each High School was also blessed with a bursary to study a course of their choice through UNISA. The gala event was full of pomp and ceremony… a formal event with a delicious 3 course mezza meal offered by Lost Treasure.
Anais entertained the crowd and the Centre was blessed to receive a number of monetary donations and sponsorships as well as orders for their handmade products.
The vision of the centre remains the integration of the clients in the community and so they welcome any community involvement that enables their clients to feel like valued and accepted members of the community.
Your gift of time is appreciated more than you know. Monetary donations and or non-perishable foodstuffs are also always welcome.
The centre caters for both intellectual and physically disabled adults situated at 10 Irene Street, Irene Park. They also offer both a residential and “day care” programme for the 60 clients in its care and has been part of the community for the last 38 years.
