Stellalander-Vryburg - Police in the Northwest province here would like to warn members of the community about people who pretend to be police officers. Cases were even reported where these "police officers" conned car-hijacking victims of their money. Several incidents in which cash was demanded from the victims were reported between March and June at various places.

Voorkom voëlgriep

Stellalander-Vryburg - Die uitbraak van die hoogs aansteeklike voëlgriep in Mpumalanga word in ʼn ernstige lig beskou en is Noordwes Koöperasie se Opti-besighede genoop om te voorkom dat die siekte na die Noordwes provinsie versprei.“Voëlgriep het die potensiaal om die Suid-Afrikaanse pluimveebedryf op sy knieë te dwing. Om die bedryf te beskerm, is dit noodsaaklik dat alle betrokke rolspelers, asook die publiek saamwerk om die verspreiding van dié siekte te keer.

SAPS task teams sink teeth into crime

Stellalander - Potchefstroom - Early in 2017 the national Police established a number of dedicated task teams to focus on bringing syndicates and hardened criminals to book and to curb the upward trend of serious crimes. The Northwest task teams have had major successes to date. Recently in Wolmaransstad, six suspects were arrested. Two of these suspects are linked to 40 cases ranging from murder to truck hijacking in the province and Gauteng.
