Swine fever in the air

Stellalander-Schweizer-Reneke – It has recently been reported that there is an outbreak of African swine fever in the Northwest. The Ipelegeng Village is one of the areas which has been affected by this outbreak and more than three hundred and twenty pigs had to be put to death.

More political parties for NW

Stellalander-Vryburg - 15 of the 30 political parties registered with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in the North West Province here, are brand new. The new parties will be contesting for the first time in the upcoming local government elections on August 3 this year.

Stellalander - Pretoria - The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has noted a few incidents of scam artists that pretend to be representatives from SARS that have approached unsuspecting small businesses enterprises to demand ‘outstanding payments’ on undeclared taxes. Over the last few months, there has been a few incidents that have been reported to SARS of scam artists that have demanded money to wipe off debts.

Raising Child Protection Awareness

Stellalander-Vryburg - The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in the Northwest Region, in partnership with stakeholders is taking part in the 2016 Child Protection Week Awareness Campaign to honor and celebrate children. The department is commissioned to advocate for justice and among other responsibilities to provide for the promotion of the rule of law.

Our politicians once again want to relocate the Deed Office in Vryburg to Mmabatho. The relocation of the Deeds Office is a very serious matter that will have devastating effects in the Vryburg Region. Needless to say that this is one of the major pillars of the infra structure of the district and plays a very important role in creating job opportunities.  The town has grown around the Deeds Office for more than 130 years and to remove the Deeds Office will definitely impact negatively on the status of the town.
