BONUS – RUSTENBURG – In an attempt to provide a responsive South African Police Service (SAPS) with the ability to reduce the levels of serious crimes in seven clusters, detectives in the North West arrested 299 suspects for various offences between Wednesday and Thursday, 28 and 29 June 2017.
According to Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone of Corporate Communication and Liaison for the North West SAPS, were arrested amongst others for contact, property related and other serious crimes committed between 2007 and 2017.
“Of the arrests, 69 were effected in Rustenburg, 53 in Brits, 51 in Mahikeng while others were arrested at four other clusters.
During the operation, two tablets that were stolen in a burglary committed at a school in Kgomotso village, Taung were recovered,” stated Brig Mokgwabone.
The arrested suspects were expected to appear in various Magistrates’ Courts in the province on Thursday and Friday (30 June 2017).
