Liquor store robbed

BONUS - RUSTENBURG- The police in Rustenburg have confirmed that a case of business robbery and hijacking has been registered at Rustenburg police station following a robbery that took place at a liquor store in Zendeling Street on Thursday (9 May).

According to Sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson in Rustenburg, at around 18:45 between six and eight suspects held the staff and some of the customers at gunpoint at Kingsley in Zendeling Street.
They took cash, cigarettes, liquor and cellphones and then fled the scene. No serious injuries were reported according to Mokgadi although some of the staff members were assaulted. The suspects then hijacked a getaway car (white BMW 318) at MTC garage (corner of Zendeling and Bosch Street). A case of car hijacking is also being investigated following this incident.
The suspects are still at large and the police are requesting anyone with information that can lead to their arrest.
