Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A local chess player needs the help of the community.
Atlegang Monchosi, a promising young player from Klerksdorp, has demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication to the game, earning her a spot to represent Dr Kenneth Kaunda and South Africa at the upcoming African Youth Chess Championship in Harare.
She is the current winner of the u13 national school tournament, and represented South Africa in the World Youth Chess Championship in Brazil last year, where she performed exceptionally well.
Sadly due to lack of sponsorship she couldn’t attend the African schools individual chess championship at Kenya, and she also couldn’t register on time to attend the Commonwealth Chess Championship taking place at Malaysia.
At just 17 years old, she is a chess prodigy with remarkable talent, showing immense potential for future success. To participate in this prestigious tournament in Zimbabwe, she requires support with registration fees, transportation (flight), accommodation, and catering.
If you are interested in supporting her endeavour, contact her mom on 079 831 4950 or her coach, Maphasa Faku, on 074 041 9838. Any form of sponsorship or support will be greatly appreciated and will contribute significantly to her success in the future.
