Safer festive season operations in full swing

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - As the festive season is getting closer, the police in the province have strengthened the fight against criminality. A total of 221 suspects were nabbed in the province for various offences during Safer Festive Season Operations held from Friday 15 November to Sunday 18 November. According to Col Adéle Myburgh, police spokesperson, the suspects were arrested for contact crimes, property related crimes and many other offences at all seven policing clusters.

Truck crashes into house

An extra heavy motor vehicle veered off the N12 after a tyre burst and crashed into a house in Jan van Riebeeck Street in Stilfontein at around 9:30 pm on Monday night. The owners of the house were away on holiday. Their children, two teenagers, were watching television in an adjacent room during the impact. The driver and passenger were transported to hospital with light injuries and have since been discharged. The truck was removed this morning.

Deadly shooting in car showroom

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The CBD came to a standstill the afternoon of Monday 11 November after shots were fired at the well-known luxury car dealership, Speedy Car Sales. According to witnesses who stay in a flat not far from the showroom, they saw a man enter the building and a short while afterward gunshots pierced the air. The same man came walking out of the showroom.

Support for Dangor family

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The funeral of Mohamed Dangor was one of the biggest seen in the city. The support on social media has also reached new heights with an outpouring of support to the mourning family. Mo, as he was affectionately called, was gunned down in the showroom of Speedy Car Sales on Monday 11 November and he was buried at the Muslim cemetery the next day.
