Mayor Kgaile off to China

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Matlosana Mayor Maetu Kgaile together with a selected delegation from the municipality accompanied by business people left the country to Xining in China on Tuesday 4 July.

The mayor’s delegates include her spokesperson, Sibongile Tshabalala, the MMC for Macro City Planning and Deve-lopment, Tshepo Khoza, deputy director of Economic Development and Alson Khuzwayo together with 7 business people.

Lentswe learnt that the mayor received an invitation from the mayor of Xining Municipal People’s Government, Zhang Xiaorong.

The invitation is for the ‘2017 Summit for Cooperation Between Silk Road Cities’ which will be held from Thursday 13 July to Sunday 16 July.

It is said that the summit will discuss urban development and promote pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between friendly cities.

On this summit, Mayor Kgaile will be expected to deliver a short speech while there will be arrangements for her to meet Xining mayor Xiaorong to discuss their future cooperation.

As the capital city of Qinghai province, Xining is the provincial centre of politics, economy, culture, education, science and technology, transportation and communication.

It is also said to be the most concentrated and dynamic area of enterprises, talents, information and material wealth of Qinghai.
