MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG - Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister, Sello Seitlholo has fervently called on municipalities that were discharging raw sewerage into water sources to take decisive action and tackle municipal waste water infrastructure challenges in order to address the widespread problem of pollution in rivers and streams.
The Deputy Minister met with different stakeholders and the Executive Mayors of Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati, Francis Baard and Pixley ka Seme District Municipalities in North West, whose waste water systems discharge effluent into the rivers, and where cholera bacteria was detected in raw water.
Annual KFC Mini Cricket Festival
MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG - North West Department of Education supported the North West Cricket Federation during the Annual KFC Mini Cricket Festival with more than 250 learners and 25 educators in attendance for a full day experience playing cricket.
FC Mini-Cricket is the first taste of cricket that aspirant young boys and girls are introduced to.
Multiple times accused appears in court
MAHIKENG MAIL - TAUNG - Eight accused persons appeared in the Taung Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody until Monday, 4 November for bail application after being arrested for attempted murder and kidnapping, arson, murder and malicious damage to property.
The accused appeared as follows: Letlhogolo Mothobi (38) and Itumeleng Boikanyo (45) are facing charges of kidnapping, attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG - More than 3000 people descended on the small village of Lokaleng near Mahikeng for the 7th annual Tholo Ikitse Cultural Festival held on 18 and 19 October.
