BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The integrated "Vala Umgodi" operations led to the arrest of four suspects for different crimes between Saturday, 6 and Monday, 8 July 2024, in Tlhatlaganyane village and Rustenburg. Two of the four suspects were nabbed in Tlhatlaganyane for possession gold bearing material. 
Biology Maphorisa (33) and Ishmael Dube (20), who are both Zimbabwean foreign nationals, appeared in the Mogwase Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 9 July 2024. They were remanded in custody until Tuesday, 16 July, 2024, for bail application.

Yes, Barend Smit might be a bit of a cliché when it comes to the image and idea of CrossFit, but there is no denying that almost a decade of the utmost dedication has brought him to the threshold of where is now - heading to the 2024 CrossFit Games in Texas, in the United States of America.
Smit (32) is taking part with his team, CrossFit Tijger Valley RELENTLESS, consisting of himself, Henri Meiring, Janine Penniall and Lani Venterexas. Although his teammates all reside in Gauteng, Smit has been a Rustenburger for almost 30 years and this is where he crossed paths with Meiring, who also originally hails from the Platinum City.

BONUS - RUSTENBURG - With three rounds of the 2024 SA Rally-Raid Championship, that included the tough and testing TGRSA Safari 1000 marathon that recently took place in the Thabazimbi area of the Limpopo Province, now something of the past, new overall leaders have emerged.  The standings in the overall as well as the class championships, set the perfect stage for a nail-biting second half of the season.
The recent Safari 1000 proved to be a real challenge and when the dust settled after three days and almost a thousand kilometres of racing, it was the race winners, Henk Lategan and Brett Cummings (TGRSA Toyota Hilux IMT EVO) who moved up from  third place to the top step in the overall standings.
