MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: Mahikeng Mail newspaper continues to pride itself for been the ‘Voice of the North West’ by once again sharing another successful story of helping the community.

 

Our article calling for public assistance for the Thupayagae family, titled ‘Anytime this house can fall- says Thupayagae’ presented great blessings to the family and encouraged the North West Housing Corporation, CEO Sello Mogodiri to take action and heed to our call for locals to assist the 70- year- old lady. 
Mogodiri appreciated the work done by Mahikeng Mail adding “we sincerely appreciate the role your publication plays as the voice of the people and we are grateful for the opportunity to address the concerns raised by Mrs. Thupayagae regarding her falling house. Upon receiving her article, we immediately took action, recognizing the urgency of her situation”.
“Our management team, including myself, visited the site to assess the extent of the issue firsthand as per the instruction from the North West Premier, Kaobitsa Bushy Maape. We further consulted with the Premier to ensure that we could provide the most effective assistance possible.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to replace Mrs. Thupayagae’s house with one that exceeds the RDP standard, ensuring her safety and security. The new house will be constructed within the next 10 days, alleviating the fear and uncertainty that Mrs. Thupayagae and her family have been living with”.
“We understand the significance of helping Mrs. Thupayagae and others like her in similar situations. It is our commitment to not only address immediate concerns but also to provide sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life for all members of our community. The Entity remains dedicated to its mission of providing sustainable housing and fostering a sense of belonging for all residents,” concluded Bishop Mogodiri, NWHC CEO.  Prior to the publication of the stories the matter was repeated reported by one of the concern residents, Moemedi Kitsenyane who could bare to see the house falling over the 70 year old. 
He further added, “It is very painful to see our people living under such threating situations. I don’t think its correct to even allow a human being to sleep in a house that would at any time fall that was I had to make call to address this pressing challenges we have around our village. We have many other challenges that include water, electricity and housing which cannot be solved at once but for Mme Thupayagae needs to be dignified by making a difference in life by giving her a proper home”.
The Thupayagae expressed great gratitude to the CEO’s gesture of helping them get a proper home.
