MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: The continued infighting among ANC members in municipalities in the North West has become a worrisome development across the province.
The ongoing fighting has spilled over to Ramotshere Moiloa Municipality where councillors reported that a security staff member was shot and injured, leading to employees not reporting for duty as they feared for their lives - this after a similar situation occurred in Ditsobotla Local Municipality earlier this year.

The uncontrollable and reckless behaviour of these members have led to various forms of intervention from ANC PEC top brass to resolve the ongoing fighting, which negatively affected service delivery and municipal operations.
The standoff is between the two Mayors Itumeleng Moarabi and Dinah Pitso, who are fighting for the same position while it it has been reported that some councillors were also removed from their posts.
SAMWU raised concerns over the safety and security of the employees saying they had no comment on the ongoing infighting of councillors as it was the responsibility of the ruling party - being the ANC in the North West - to resolve the situation.
* The PEC in the North West has since removed three councillors from their positions, and declared vacancies that will be filled after by-elections to re-elect councillors fit to hold office within the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality.
