BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The Executive Mayor Cllr Shiela Mabale-Huma on Friday, 21 November, joined communities, civil society organisations, and local leaders in a march against Gender-based Violence.
The march sent a clear message that the city stands united in saying NO to violence, NO to abuse, and NO to the violation of human rights.

By walking side by side with residents, the Executive Mayor reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to creating safer communities, supporting survivors, and strengthening programmes that prevent GBV.
“Gender-based Violence is a crisis that affects every family and every community. We cannot remain silent. Today, we walk for justice, for protection, and for the dignity of all women and children,” the mayor said.
She said the city will continue to collaborate with stakeholders, law enforcement, and community structures to ensure that prevention, awareness, and support initiatives remain a priority.
