Late Sunday afternoon the first real thunder storm of the summer rolled over Rustenburg. It brought some slight relief after an extremely hot weekend.

Juan-Dré Schmidt took this impressive photo from his home in Leyds Street, Rustenburg. The forecast for the rest of the week promises cooler, cloudy days. Rain is only predicted again for next Tuesday (21 November).

Four new speed humps which were erected in Cuckoo Avenue Rustenburg  over the weekend literally became the talk of the town with residents and motorists flocking to social media in great numbers to point out the pros and cons of these “traffic calming devices”. According to DA Cllr Tanya Rothman of Ward 17, the new speed humps have been necessitated following constant complaints of reckless driving and speeding by motorists in the area over the course of the past two years.
