Ithuseng Agroecological and Training Development is a community-based organization dedicated to promoting sustainable farming, food security, and skills development. The organization planted trees in schools, trained over 50 community members in crop production and agro-processing, and empowered an elderly-owned food security project. Ithuseng is calling for support with seeds, fertilizers, and PPE to strengthen its projects and expand its impact in the community.

Known for its iconic agricultural showcases, the event continues to celebrate excellence in farming, with this year placing a strong emphasis on expanding market access and creating commercial opportunities for smallholder farmers.
Disability sector in crisis
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Disability Forum accuses the municipality of a lack of transparency, accountability, and commitment to supporting persons with disabilities. Tlwaelo Witkoei, secretary, demands action to address these concerns. He said the recent controversy surrounding the distribution of food parcels to persons with disabilities is a prime example of the municipality’s failure to prioritize their needs. A public post by Ditto Maine from the Mayor’s office, claimed that the municipality was providing food parcels to persons with disabilities.
Agri Department donates tools, seeds
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development NW visited the NPO, Iketsetseng Basadi Project, in Ext 6, Jouberton to donate garden tools, trees, seeds and seedlings.
Struggle stalwart passed away
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Winnie Molapo is a well-known unionist. She passed away recently and will be buried this weekend. Winnie (72) was a central activist in the Jouberton Civic Association and Mass Democratic Movement in the eighties, working with well-known figures such as Sylvia Mamza Benjamin, Pinky Pooe and Dikeledi Sebetlela. The JCA was blessed by leaders such as Goods Matswetlane, JC Nxamakele and Ofentse Mogale, who all became executive mayors of Matlosana. She understood that a thriving economy depends on the well-being of its workers and fought to ensure that the country’s workforce in the retail sector received fair treatment and protection under the law, during her tenure at Saccawu in the ten WTvl.
