Remember Kizito
St Kizito Movement for Boys held their Diocesan Annual Retreat from September 26-28 at St Peter’s Catholic Church, Jouberton. Boys came from as far as Atamelang District to learn, play, celebrate and remember their patron Saint, Kizito. The motto of their movement is discipline, obedience and brotherhood. The Retreat Master was Rev Fr Thabang Ntsietsang, who described the boys as matona a tumelo.
This lion roars
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Collin Moalusi going by the pseudonym “Lion The-Rebel” is a South African rapper and a writer from Matlosana. He is also known as TAU and he is a recording artist/performing artist, writer, poet and a street rapper with outstanding skills of rap that manages to fuse all languages together. Lion The-Rebel is based on hip hop culture, although he is kasi driven when you listen to his sound, he is able to tap in Sotho rap known as tsepe, motswako, trap, drill and spoken poetry.
Phodiso honours Heritage Day
Lentswe, Kanana - Phodiso Worship Centre led by Apostle TD Mofokeng, commemorated their heritage day on Monday September 29. It was a distinctive and meaningful meeting as they came together for their weekly service to collectively revere and praise God. They seized the perfect opportunity to honour God by wearing a variety of traditional garments to commemorate their distinct heritages.
Leano La Bophelo celebrates
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Leano La Bophelo is a non-profit organization founded by Rathebe Michael Mojaki with the aim of promoting history and creating jobs for the community. The group is known for its commitment in hosting Heritage events for Matlosana community as it was leased for Goudkoppie Heritage Site by the Matlosana Municipality. This year more than 900 plus people attended the event on September 24 to celebrate heritage.
