Letter from reader: Gangs rule Jouberton
Moagi wa Jouberton - The community is held hostage by gangs and this has been going on for too long. Gangs have brought terror to the community even the Jouberton SAPS proved to be incapable to restoring and upholding law and order in the community, and one would think that they allow lawlessness to prevail. Our local economy is very bad and unable to create much needed jobs because investors cannot invest in Jouberton due to 30% extortion from any developmental project to be implemented in Jouberton.

It’s African Traditional Medicine Week
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - For many, healing starts in the home, in ritual, in community, and in deep spiritual connection. As both a clinical psychologist and Igqirha, a Xhosa divine healer, Anele Siswana understands that mental well-ness in Africa cannot be fully supported without acknowledging the value of African traditional medicine and spirituality. Each year, from August 26 to 31, African Traditional Medicine Week is observed - a powerful reminder that healing in Africa has always been more than medicine in a bottle or a prescription from a pharmacy.
