MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: North West Department of health embraced and congratulated mothers who successfully gave birth to babies across the province. 

 

The first baby to be born in the Province was delivered at Mahikeng Provincial Hospital at 00h00, an African Male, with weight 2.28kg.The baby was born with Gastroschisis and is admitted in Neonatal Unit (for referral to Tertiary institution).  The youngest Mother is 16 years old, who gave birth at Klerksdorp-Tshepong Hospital Complex to an Female African weighing 1300g. She arrived at 12h15. Mother is admitted in High Care for BP Monitoring, while the baby in Ward 3 for Prematurity.  Bojanala District Recorded twin pregnancy at JSTH through a C/S).  The condition of the mother and the twins are satisfactory. Dr Kenneth Kaunda District had a total babies born 19 made of 12 males and seven females of which 12 is Normal Viginal Deliveries (NVDs) and seven caesarian section (C/S) deliveries.  Bojanala District had a total babies norn: 36 (13 Males and  23 Females) of which 28 is NVDs while 07 came through C/S. Ngaka Modiri Molema had a total babies Born: 34 (19 Males and 15 Females, 27 came through NVD while seven were C/S.  Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District a total babies born: 23 (11 Males and 12 Females) of which 22 were NVD and one C/S The North west province had a total number of 112 babies made of 57 females and  55 males of which 89 came through NVDS AND  22 were C/S 22.
