Op Vrydag, 19 September, het die spreekwoordelike vreugdevure hoog gebrand by Karlien Park Primary School toe personeel van Rainbow Chicken met groot opgewondenheid die skool besoek het om ‘n nuwe naambord vir die skool te onthul. Freda Ramasodi (onderhoof van Karlien Park Primary School), Johan Bolz (Rainbow Chicken) Muneeb Omarjee (hoof van Karlien Park Primary School) en Zenda Pick (beheerliggaam) het die vooreg gehad om die bord te onthul. BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, has extended the deadline for comments after officially gazetting the first two sets of regulations under the Basic Education Laws Amendment Act, 2024 (Bela Act). Comments now close on 5 October. Broadly, the two sets of regulations deal with classroom sizes and admission policies of public schools and come from the controversial Basic Education Laws Amendment Act, which was signed into law late last year.

BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has reminded trustees and the public of the official filing season for trusts that runs from 20 September 2025 to 19 January 2026. All trusts must file a tax return annually, including those that are not economically active. A trust is included under the definition of a “person” in terms of the Income Tax Act, no.58 of 1962, and is therefore regarded as a taxpayer.
