MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: With the genre of Amapiano growing tremendously, a new, upcoming artist from Khunwana by the name of Thabang Mosikare (Tsotso Da DJ) has created a space for himself as a force to be reckoned with, as he dropped his latest offering on a five track EP titled “Solace”.

Growing up in the neighbourhood of Carletonville and listening to music of his era, the young DJ got exposed to FL studio in 2018 while inspired by Amapiono hit makers and producers like Kabza De Small who have encouraged him to do more music.
Tsotso Da DJ always exposed himself to different types of music genres, but he is much more interested in the mixing of sounds and composing instruments and elements to produce quality music.
Speaking about his latest offering Tsotso Da DJ said, “My sound is infused with a variety of drums and percussions and sweet melodies. But what mostly stands out is that I infuse emotion into every chord progression and I make sure my music has an uplifting message - but with a groovy vibe to it. Whether it’s chilled or high-energy, there`s always a message or feeling behind the music”.
Tsotso Da DJ is now focusing on growing his brand and sound by exploring live performances and visuals that can elevate experience for his listeners.
“I have an EP out now under De Mogul SA (Oe Batla Kae) Label Lessons Holdings titled Solace. I’m also planning on working on a joint project with Artemis, an amazing female vocalist from Carletonville. I did a few songs with her and she`s featured on my recent EP, titled Solace. I want to collaborate more with different artists to push my level of production and stay inspired.
“I have featured five vocalists. Working with all of them was challenging, as they all have different styles and as a producer you have to adapt to that and find a way to match your creativity with theirs. But the one that stands out for me was when I was working with Masego “Artemis”, every song I made with her has a very deep and emotional message to it.”
