NOORDWESTER – LICHTENBURG - On Saturday 5 July, the Association of Lions Clubs International celebrated the induction of the 58th President of the Lions Club of Rustenburg.
This auspicious occasion was held at the Indaba Conference and Events Centre in Lichtenburg.
Lion Mankete “Pinky” Serobatse was inducted as the 58th President of the Lions Club of Rustenburg.
40 Guests attended the occasion, among them Past District Governor (PDG) of Lions Clubs International, District 410E, Lion Lindie van Wyk, who also performed the induction ceremony and obligated Lion President Pinky Serobatse as the President of the Club.
The Lions Club of Rustenburg does wonderful community service work in Lichtenburg, feeding over 900 people every month who are totally reliant on the donations they receive from members of the community.
Lion Pinky committed the club to further community service for the ensuing year. She also thanked the sponsors of the feeding schemes and promised her commitment to the projects.
Lion PDG Lindie van Wyk commended outgoing President, Lion Nkandu Chapeshamano on all the hard work done for the Lichtenburg community during his year in office.
Referring to the outgoing President, Lion Nkandu’s report, PDG Lindie commended the whole Lions Club on the community service work being carried out, which includes the assistance of indigent people in obtaining cataract operations.
