BRITS POS – BRITS - As part of an ongoing investigation into two cases of inquest, the police in Brits request relatives of the two deceased to come forward and identify them.
On Sunday, 28 September 2025 at about 09:20, the police received a call regarding a lifeless body that was lying on the street.

Upon arrival, the police found the body of an unknown African male in Tom Street, Brits Central Business District (CBD). At the time the deceased was wearing a navy-blue jersey and a grey tracksuit trouser. According to information received, it is alleged that he resided around the area of Bapong, close to Mooinooi.
In another separate incident, a lifeless body of an African male was found floating in the Crocodile River, close to Primindia, Brits by security guards on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, at about 18:00. He was wearing a brown t-shirt and black short pants. The body was retrieved from the river by police divers and certified dead by officials from Brits government mortuary.
