Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Police are investigating a case of murder after two bodies were found inside a vehicle on Saturday morning June 1 near the cemetery. 

Turns out the bodies belong to two men that were last seen on Thursday May 30 when they left their homes in Khuma for a job in Jouberton. According to Lt Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, the men were reported missing at Khuma SAPS.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp Hospital is functioning normally and the hospital is receiving water from the municipality.

The water was connected on Tuesday June 4, after it was cut due to vandalism at the Archbishop Tutu Street reservoir and theft of four pumps. This sabotage took place on Tuesday May 28 and was reported on in this week’s Midweek Record.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - It is still tense between taxi owners and the police after the incident early in May where a taxi driver was shot by police officers.

Tsietso Maloba was wounded in the leg and is still recovering from the injury he incurred on May 9. According to Hope Mandla Mooki, chairman of the Kopano taxi route, the driver was shot on the N12 after they confronted police officers who assaulted one of their patrollers. “We received a call from the patrol guys at Ultra City complaining about a policeman who was giving lifts in an illegal car. The policeman told him that we could do nothing to him as he is a policeman and he even called some buddies who came and started assaulting our guy.’’

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The top 20 municipalities with overdue Eskom bills owe the power utility around R55.8 billion, with the three biggest defaulters owing over R7 billion each.

The Matlosana Municipality is a top defaulter, according to MyBroadband. Matlosana is in eighth place and owes R1,798 billion to Eskom.
