Matrics: 79% pass in Matlosana

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Only two high schools in Matlosana achieved 100% pass rates. Al Huda Muslim School in Manzilpark with 14 matrics is not only the top school in Matlosana, it is also the top school in the province.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Stilfontein - Die Pioneer Caltex vulstasies op Stilfontein het onlangs deurgeloop onder brandstofdiewe wat by albei van hulle takke brandstof ingegooi het en dan weggejaag het sonder om te betaal. Op Woensdag 5 Desember het twee afsonderlike voorvalle plaasgevind by albei takke van hierdie maatskappy se vulstasies. ‘n Bakkie en voertuig het onderskeidelik gestop by elke vulstasie, die petroljoggie gesê om die motor vol te maak en weggery sodra die kar/bakkie volgegooi is. Die bestuurder en mede-eienaar van Pioneer motors, Tronel Legassick het die voorvalle bevestig en ook genoem dat albei motors vasgetrek is vir hulle misdade.

Ompad op R502 onbegaanbaar

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - ‘n Stuk van die R502 vanaf Orkney na die N12 verby die ou Hartebeesfontein-mynskag is vir verkeer gesluit. ‘n Ompad is geskep vir motoriste en trokke wat daagliks van hierdie pad gebruik moet maak. Dit is nou twee jaar later en die pad is steeds toe. Klagtes stroom byna daagliks in oor die toestand van die alternatiewe pad en motoriste kla dat hulle voertuie beskadig.

Food gardens for the community

Klerksdorp Record, Orkney -The Matlosana Agricultural project on the banks of the Vaal River in Orkney was recently handed to two local agricultural cooperatives consisting of sixteen beneficiaries. The project is part of AngloGold Ashanti’s social development plan and was carried out in collaboration with the local municipality and the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), who is the regulator for the mining industry.

Lion bail hearing ongoing

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Three South Africans and six Vietnamese appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court on Tuesday 11 December in connection with the illegal slaughtering of lions and tigers in North West. The accused are Louis Fouche (22), Lourens Pretorius (24), Mguyel Huu Son (30), Nauyen van Tuan (33), Dao Chanh (38), Pham Khur (56), Pham Xwan Chanh (56), Quol Thang (60) and Michael Fourie (42).
