Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - It is more than four years after former North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo announced the establishment of a state of the art hotel school in Orkney in his state of the province address. This hotel school was supposed to be developed from buildings donated by AngloGold Ashanti to the Department of Tourism in 2015.

Athlete collapses during race

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A popular long distance athlete who completed the Comrades 24 times, died while participating in the Salga road race honouring Madiba this past weekend. Gabriël Colyn (51) from Potchefstroom was a well-known athlete.

Ward committee member, councillor clash

Klerksdorp Record, Khuma - A ward committee member wants to know about the fate of her political career as she is not recognised by her ward councillor. Sisi Masango, a member of the DA, is persona non grata in her ward committee. Masango from the AECI section in Khuma said she was elected as a ward committee member just like the other members during 2016.

Rapist jailed to four life terms

Klerksdorp Record, Jouberton - The family of the rape and murder victim, Nombuyiselo Nombewu might have a closure for their broken hearts after her killer received four life sentences. The 33-year-old Tshepo Seth Manyiki was handed down four life prison terms on Thursday 26 July at the Klerksdorp High Court.
