Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Die stad se hoofposkantoor is sedert 12 Oktober gesluit. Verbaasde kliënte kom sedertdien voor dooiemansdeur te staan. Teen druktyd, was die poskantoor gesluit met die sleutels steeds in die balju se besit. Volgens hom is geen bykomende betalings gemaak om die agterstallige huurgeld te delg nie. Na raming is bykans R750 000 uitstaande.

Motion of no confidence in mayor

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Democratic Alliance in Matlosana as well as the Economic Freedom Front have proposed a motion of no confidence in Executive Mayor Maetu Kgaile. Both political parties have asked that the motion be carried out in a secret ballot at a special council meeting scheduled on Thursday 25 October.

Million rand transaction in spotlight

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Questions are asked about a property transaction involving the City of Matlosana that paid R53 million for an apparently worthless piece of land next to the old Orkney landfill site. Cllr Chris Bester of the Democratic Alliance (DA) announced that they will table a motion to investigate the transaction.

Walking for Jesus

Students of the X Gen Bible School at Spirit Word Ministries in Stilfontein are proud of what they believe in! The Bible School had a Walk for Christ on Tuesday 23 October. They started walking at 06:00. Motorists on the N12 saw their banners as they walked 45 km to Potchefstroom, proclaiming that South Africa needs Jesus.

Suspected arms dealer nailed for illegal firearms

Klerksdorp Record, Kanana - An operation by the North West Hawks’ Firearm Task Team and SANEB assisted by Klerksdorp TRT led to the arrest of a 32-year-old suspect on Wednesday 17 October in Kanana for the illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The North West Hawks spokesperson, Capt Tlangelani Rikhotso said they raided a house in Kanana following a ti-off alleging that the man residing there is a firearms dealer.
