Lentswe, Jouberton - Men of Ext 24, 17 and 22 will come together to celebrate and observe Father’s Day on Sunday June 15 with delicious potjiekos. The Justice and Peace Commission will celebrate the progress and efforts on shaping the positive role fathers through the commission’s behavioural change program tailored for men in all drinking spaces, especially the taverns. The weekly community dialogues in drinking establishments have thus far recorded significant strides.

Together with men in Jouberton, the commission thrives and ushers in a new culture of community activism and continuing to utilise drinking spaces as critical sites for change.

“We are aware through our dialogues that men are going through a lot of challenges and are suffering silently, some men are being embarrassed, disgraced and abused by their partners and children because on not having decent jobs, and when bringing less money home, they are insulted and bullied by their partner’s for not providing enough. Once again, we would like to remind the community members of Jouberton about its free paralegal services on issues on issues of GBV accessible at Ledibeng Centre (Roma) Jouberton,” said Joe Mashilo, secretary.

Among the speakers at the Father’s Day event will be motivational speakers and the Aurum Institute on the issues of men’s health.
