Lentswe, Stilfontein - The City of Matlosana Local Economic Development Directorate, in collaboration with Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, organised the Entrepreneurial Flea Market Day at Stilfontein Gardens on December 1. The event was attended by small and medium entreprises from Matlosana, local communities, government authorities, and private sector representatives.

The primary objective of the flea market day event was to furnish entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase their merchandise and entice local consumers. Entrepreneurs exhibited their products ranging 
from food, fresh produce, poultry and clothing, accessories, perfumes, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, Department of Health, Department of Economic Development Environment Conservation and Tourism, Department of Agriculture, and Small Entreprise Financial Services were also providing their services. 

Tshepiso Molelekwa, the Acting Director of Local Economic Development, urged the local communities to persist in purchasing and endorsing locally manufactured items. She also encouraged businesses to maintain their creativity and innovation in order to market a diverse range of products and goods. 

According to Molelekwa, the objective of Local Economic Development is to facilitate the emerging small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) into the dominant economy, hence enhancing the economic growth of the City and District.
