Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Last week, about 200 informal traders from all over the province attended a seminar on the informal economy.
The Local Economic Development (LED) department of the Matlosana Municipality in partnership with the Department of Employment and Labour’s Inspection and Enforcement Services Unit hosted the seminar on Thursday March 7. The purpose of the seminar was to educate and inform informal traders in the province about the benefits and services offered by the Department of Employment and Labour.

The event was attended by the Executive Mayor of the City of Matlosana, Cllr James Tsolela, MMC Local Economic Development Cllr Moagi Kodisang, Advocate Fikiswa Mncanca-Bede, government officials, and 200 North West informal traders.

During his welcoming speech, Tsolela applauded the informal traders for their contribution to the country’s economy.
