Lentswe, Kanana - The acting executive mayor of Matlosana, Cllr Wesley Kgang, officially launched the reconstruction of outside waterborne toilets in Kanana last week. Cllr Kgang was accompanied by MMC of Infrastructure Cllr Steferd Barrends, Kanana ward councillors, Director of Infrastructure Nelson Mongale, officials, consultants, and contractors on Friday October 11. The project aims to upgrade and refurbish the existing full waterborne sanitation system, especially the outside toilet structures in wards 20, 24, and 26.
Death of Orlando Pirates fan
Lentswe, Jouberton - Pange Tryphina Mokaleng was a veteran supporter of Orlando Pirates. Her home was the clubhouse of the local supporters’ club. She passed away recently and that left the community in shock. She was also a community workers, founder of Mabogo Dinku, a Thebana of Ext 1 Jouberton, a straight talker, a pantsula lady, a comedian, great cook and member of stokvels in Jouberton. She was also taking care of senior citizens and every July 18 prepared food to give away as presents. Her funeral service will take place at Jouberton Hall on Sunday October 20.
Two new councillors sworn in
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Two new councillors for Matlosana Municipality were officially sworn in this week. Moremedi Orapeleng Petros and Inge Wilken accepted their new titles with smiles. Senior Magistrate Marionette Kirsten did the honours at the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday October 14.

Youth development council elected
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Matlosana Municipality launched a Youth Development Council on Saturday October 5 in the Office of the Mayor. The forum was established as an initiative aimed at addressing challenges faced by young people in the region. Executive Mayor Fikile Mahlophe, councillors, ward representatives along with notable figures such as Dr Bongani Mahlangu from the South African Youth Council (SAYC), Karabo Mondlane, SAYC District Coordinator and Masoso Mosupa, youth activist were in attendance.
