Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Elvis Vers is still missing. The police in Orkney are requesting the community’s assistance in locating Vers (53), who resides in Orkney. He was last seen by fellow mine employees early on May 2, when they were on duty and went down the mine shaft. Upon reporting off duty, they noticed that Vers was not amongst them and reported it to their supervisor. A search was conducted at the mine and surrounding areas without success.

“Extensive investigations were done and all leads were followed up with no success. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white mine overall, with orange arm and leg reflective strips, with a red hardhat and black gumboots. He is brown in complexion, has brown eyes, he weighs 92kg and is 1.7m tall, he is bald, has no beard and a short moustache,” said Const Thuto Bobelo, police spokesperson. 

Anyone who may have information that can assist the police in tracing the missing person, can contact the Investigating Officer, Capt Johan Pretorius, on 082 374 1072 or your nearest police station. Alternatively, the South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Stop can be called at 08600 10111 or anonymous tip-offs can be communicated via the My SAPS App from your smart phone.
