Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Mmatlala Machuba, a 21-year-old young woman born and raised in the city, is the new Miss Global Princess SA. She is planning a homecoming convoy/escort through Klerksdorp for this weekend! She is pursuing her undergraduate degree at NWU in Potchefstroom. Her roots, however, are fixed at Klerksdorp Technical High School, where she was honoured to serve as Junior Miss THS in 2018.
She was raised by a man who instilled the principle of giving in her, Edward Machuba.
“My father, the most selfless and generous person I have ever known. I lived out philanthropy before I even knew what it was. Giving was never something I had to learn; it was simply a part of who I was. From the very first time I participated in a pageant; I understood that the platform was more than just about me. It was both a responsibility and an honour to ensure that the opportunities I received were used to serve others. Helping, empowering, and inspiring have always been at the core of who I am.
“Pageantry found me when I was just 13 years old. A little girl with a big heart and even bigger dreams. Over the years, it became more than a stage or a sash for me. It became a platform. A calling. A space where I could use my voice, my passion, and my heart to reflect the kind of woman I aspire to be and hope to inspire others to become.”
She said: “From April 3 to 7, I had the incredible opportunity to compete at the Miss Global Princess South Africa 2025 pageant, held at the stunning Dynasty Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg. And on that final evening, I was crowned the Senior Overall Winner, a moment that will live in my heart forever.”
She was also awarded Miss Best Interview, Miss Philanthropy, Miss Leadership, Miss Personality, Miss Congeniality, and Miss Photogenic. “I also happen to be the founder of a women empowerment initiative called Her Real Purpose. Her Real Purpose was born from my personal journey and deep desire to create safe, empowering spaces for young girls and women who feel unseen, unheard, or incapable of reaching their dreams. Through mentorship, school visits, emotional support sessions, and powerful storytelling, I aim to help women break through the barriers of inferiority, fear, and societal expectation and step fully into who God created them to be.”
She was awarded a travel sponsorship of R40 000 toward flights and accommodation to Paris, France, where she will be representing South Africa on an international stage at Miss Global Princess International 2025. She will also be walking at Paris Fashion Week, carrying not only the South African flag, but the stories, strength, and spirit of every girl who’s ever questioned whether she was enough.
