Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The municipality has called on all tuck shop owners, inclu-ding foreign nationals who own tuck shops within the municipal area, to formally register their businesses. Cllr Wesley Kgang, MMC for Local Economic Development, addressed tuckshop owners and conveyed this message to them.

This appeal forms part of a broader initiative to foster compliance, enhance economic development, and promote fair trade practices within the city.

Speaking in Kanana, Cllr Kgang emphasized the importance of formal business registration.
The MMC also highlighted the role of small businesses in driving the local economy and urged all tuckshop owners to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the region by operating within the regulatory framework.

He pointed out that formal registration would also help ensure that businesses adhere to health, safety, and licensing standards, which are critical for safeguarding the welfare of the community.
