Competing against some of the strongest junior players from across the continent, she delivered a commendable performance, finishing the tournament with a score of 4.5 points out of 9 games. The championship provided Atlegang with valuable international exposure and a rare opportunity to test her skills against diverse playing styles at a high competitive level. Her participation marks an important milestone in her chess career and reflects her dedication, discipline, and growing potential in the sport. She has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who made her journey possible. She would like to thank her mother for her unwavering support and encouragement throughout her chess career. Special appreciation also goes to her coach Israel “Eazy” Tshabadira, Faku Maphasa and the Dr Kenneth Kaunda Chess Federation for the guidance and belief in her abilities, as well as the Provincial Department of Sports for sponsorship and for its support in youth chess development.
