Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The N12 Ultra Marathon between Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom took place last weekend.
The race that started in Potch and ended in Klerksdorp this year was won by Maxed Elite International athlete, Tonny Skink. The 10 km race that started and ended in Klerksdorp at the Recreational Centre was won by Jerry Motsau of Athletics Central NW. The 50 km race started at 06:00 with a cut-off time of 05:49 at the NWU McArthur Stadium in Potchefstroom. The 10 km race started at 07:30 at Klerksdorp Recreation Centre.

The opening ceremony of the 10 km marathon was performed by the Executive Mayor of the Matlosana Municipality, James Tsolela.

It is the second year the N12 Ultra was held in partnership with the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, North West Parks and Tourism Board Marketing, and the municipality.

Nobukhosi Tshuma (Entsika AC) was the first women in the 50 km race. Adele Broodryk (Nedbank running club) was second and Gladys Cheruiyot (Nedbank running club international) third.

Neheng Khatala won the women’s 10 km.
