Eskom wants to pull the plug on city’s R500m debt

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp – Eskom is threatening to interrupt electricity supply to the City of Matlosana due to a huge outstanding debt. According to a notice in last week’s Klerksdorp Record (26 June 2020) the Matlosana Municipality is currently indebted to Eskom to the amount of R537 901 942,08 for the bulk supply of electricity. Part of this account has been outstanding since August 2018.
