BRITS POS – LETLHABILE - In Letlhabile, north of Brits, a multi-disciplinary team consisting of the Brits Crime Intelligence, Letlhabile Police as well as Hartbeespoortdam Crime Prevention and K9 Unit, arrested a 37-year-old man at a shopping complex in Zone 15, on Friday, 5 July 2024.
The arrest was effected after the team received and operationalised intelligence about a man who was trying to sell illegal firearms.
BRITS POS – PARLIAMENT – MP Leon Basson, a resident of Brits has been elected on Tuesday as Chairperson of the Portfolio Water and Sanitation in the National Assembly.
Basson served as Shadow Minister of Water and Sanitation before the formation of the Government of National Unity (GNU). These committees are the engine rooms of Parliament where, among others, the work of the executive is scrutinised.

Hulle is in hul 70’s en het teen 17:00 tuis gekom nadat hulle patrollie op die plaas gedoen het. Die egpaar het rugby gekyk toe twee aanvallers op hulle toegesak het, terwyl ‘n derde buite wag gehou het. Hulle het geld en wapens geëis het. Albei slagoffers is vasgebind en wreed aangerand.

BRITS POS – HARTBEESPOORT – Police confirmed that cases of murder, business robbery and an ATM bombing were registered at Hartbeespoort police station yesterday, 3 July, in the early hours of the morning.
“Allegedly seven armed suspects entered a fuel station in Hartbeespoort in the early hours of the morning. They shot and killed a security officer who was inside a patrol vehicle and then proceeded to the kiosk, broke a window pane and ordered the cashier and petrol attendant who was inside the kiosk to hand over cash and cellphones,” says Const Ben Moabi, SAPS Bojanala spokesperson.
