BONUS - RUSTENBURG - PEP, Africa’s largest single brand retailer, in partnership with South African Schools Netball (SASN) has expanded the footprint of the PEP mini Netball programme to three additional provinces following on from last year’s resounding success. This year, 30 festivals across six provinces will aid in the development of youth netball in South Africa.
Initially launched in Gauteng, Free State and the Western Cape, these fun-filled festivals will now extend their reach to Limpopo, North-West and the Northern Cape.
Public warned on whooping cough dangers
RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - According to local reports from the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), South Africa has had 50 confirmed cases of whooping cough since January 2024. To combat instances of this disease, the public has been urged to take immediate action and prioritise vaccination.
The most vulnerable group for this type of disease, infants, are unfortunately predominantly infected by parents, siblings, and other caregivers. As such, vaccination is the most effective tool to ward off this illness.

As is the custom, the day promises to be filled with warmth, generosity, and fun - all in support of children with life-threatening illnesses.
Since its inauguration in 2011, Slipper Day has become a nationwide movement where South Africans band together to make dreams come true for children with critical diseases like cancer, renal failure, and heart conditions.
The search is on for Miss South Africa 2024
BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The search has started for the dynamic woman who will follow in the footsteps of the current Miss South Africa, Natasha Joubert, and become one of South Africa’s most recognisable faces and prominent ambassadors.
Entries for Miss South Africa 2024 opened on Thursday, 2 May and will close on Wednesday, 8 May 2024 at 18:00. South Africans will once again get to know the finalists through the fascinating Miss South Africa reality competition television show Crown Chasers, which will be broadcast on SABC3.

BONUS - RUSTENBURG - Amateur artists in and around Rustenburg are invited to enter Rustenburg Herald/NW Bonus’ popular Blank Space Art competition with wonderful prize-money up for grabs once every quarter as well as at the grand finale following the overall judging at the end of the year.
Two monthly/quarterly winners from all participating artists will be selected every quarter (one each from Pick n Pay Greystone Crossing and Pick n Pay Beyers Naudé) with each of these artists walking off with prize-money of R1 000 sponsored by Rustenburg Herald.
