In a notice issued by the Bakwena N1N4, Rustenburg were notified of the eminent but fortunately, only temporary closure of the Kruger Street from 15 Augustus 2024 until 30 July 2025.

Eight arrested after multi murders in Rustenburg, Matlosana over weekend
BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, has welcomed the arrest of six suspects on Sunday in connection with Kanana Township and Freedom Park shooting incidents on Saturday, 27 July 2024, respectively. In the Kanana incident wherein eight people died and 13 others were injured, a multi-disciplinary team comprising of the Provincial Organised Crime, Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, Provincial Murder & Robbery, Crime Intelligence, Tactical Response Team (TRT) as well as Dr Kenneth Kaunda District and Kanana Detectives, arrested four suspects who are all Lesotho foreign nationals, aged between 24 and 38, in Klerksdorp and Kanana Township respectively.
